My life’s Kaleidoscope revolves around Wyoming and Idaho.

Jeff Short

Outside and nature are constant companions. The wind, an old friend.

As a former roustabout, ranch hand, lineman, businessman, farmer, and rancher, I have been fortunate to live my dreams.

I withdrew from my thriving business at age 53 to focus on my art. Inspiration surrounds me with deer, antelope, elk, and all the lesser creatures on my remote ranch in Wyoming’s high desert.

My home in Idaho, nestled in a canyon with a clear mountain trout stream and an old apple orchard creates a perfect setting of food and water for a diversity of wildlife.

Antlers are my palette. I seek their uniqueness, flaws, and beauty. Locked within them are millennia of heritage. Grown for battle and the right of legacy, they tell thousands of stories. I try to honor their legacy and myself through my art.
